Facial Trauma Reconstruction
Injuries to the face, head and neck are common occurrences that tend take an
emotional as well as a physical toll on the individual. Whether the trauma
is due to cancer, illness, or an accident your appearance can be drastically
improved with reconstructive surgery. William M. Portnoy, MD, FACS, is a
double Board Certified Facial Plastic Surgeon who practice in Manhattan, New
York. Doctor Portnoy has impeccable credentials and accreditations regarding
facial trauma reconstruction. To review a complete list of the facial

To achieve superlative results in reconstruction of trauma to the facial
bones, such as fractures to the cheek, midface or orbital regions, Doctor
Portnoy exploits a state of the art “minimal incision” technique whereby
most incisions are either hidden in non-visualized places such as within the
inner eyelid, intra-oral, or in the hairline. Minimal, inconspicuous
incisions can also be employed in addition to those “hidden” incisions
thereby allowing access to almost the entire facial skeleton. At times
additional supportive tissue is required to execute the reconstruction. By
virtue of his extensive facial plastic surgery experience in this arena,
Doctor Portnoy can easily harvest cartilage from the nasal septum, bone
grafts from the skull, or rely on any number of other bio-acceptable
materials and mini-plates for bone stabilization.
The most common types of facial fractures / facial traumas that Board
Certified Facial Plastic Surgeon, William M. Portnoy attends to includes:
1. Complex nasal Fractures
2. Orbital Blow-out Fractures
3. Tri-malar Fractures
4. Aygomatic Arch Fractures
